Image Data
Alterpix processes image data you upload to provide our AI-powered image alteration service. This section details how we handle your image data.
Types of Image Data Collected
When you upload an image to Alterpix, we collect the following:
- The image file itself: This is the primary data needed to perform the image alteration.
- Image metadata (EXIF data): We may collect metadata embedded within the image file, such as camera settings, date, and time. We *do not* collect location data from EXIF data unless it is strictly necessary for a specific feature (e.g., a feature that stylizes images based on location, and only if you explicitly opt-in to that feature). If location data *is* ever collected, it will be explicitly mentioned here, and a separate consent mechanism will be provided.
- Derived Data: We may create temporary, derived data from your image, such as feature vectors or intermediate representations, solely for the purpose of processing your image and generating the altered result.
Use of Image Data
We use your image data for the following purposes:
- Image Alteration: To perform the AI-powered image alteration you request. This is the core function of our service.
- Service Improvement: We use aggregated, anonymized image data to improve the quality and performance of our AI models. *Your individual images are never used for model training without your explicit, opt-in consent.* We provide a clear opt-in mechanism within your account settings if you wish to contribute your images to model training. This opt-in is *not* required to use the service.
- Preview Generation: We may use your *altered* image to generate a preview of the results. We do *not* use your *original* uploaded image for previews shown to other users.
- Temporary Storage: We use secure cloud storage to temporarily store your uploaded image and the altered image. Our cloud storage provider is Google Cloud Storage and you can review their privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
Image Data Retention
Uploaded images and their altered versions are stored on our servers for a maximum of 48 hours after you have completed your purchase and downloaded your generated images, or 48 hours after upload if no purchase is made. After this period, both the original and altered images are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. Derived data is also deleted within this 48-hour period.
Image Data Security
We take the security of your image data very seriously and employ a range of measures to protect it:
- Encryption in Transit: All images are transmitted between your browser and our servers using HTTPS encryption.
- Encryption at Rest: Images stored on our servers are encrypted at rest.
- Access Control: Strict access controls limit access to image data to authorized personnel only.
- Regular Security Audits: We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure the ongoing security of our systems.
Image Data Deletion Requests
You can request the deletion of your uploaded images and generated images at any time, even before the automatic 48-hour deletion. To do so, please contact us at support@alterpix.app. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe, and in accordance with GDPR requirements (if applicable).
If you have opted-in to allow your images to be used for training data, you may opt-out at any time in your account settings.

Security Of Data
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We take appropriate security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access and breaches, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments.
